Learning to articulate your thoughts:
Debating is about presenting your argument in the most effective manner. This can only happen if you are succinct and clear. Debating gives you the opportunity to articulate your thoughts with clarity. This is a vital skill that can be applied to any aspect of our life; the ability to explain an argument with flair and intellect is a skill that is rare and unique to few.

An expanded view on society:
Debates can range from anything about current affairs to an ethical dilemma. It shows us a perspective that may have once been unfamiliar. As we debate, we begin to develop a deeper understanding of our society and the world we live in. Regardless of winning, at the end of any debate, a student will always come out as a conscientious and mature member of society.

As you stand in front of people and deliver your argument, you become confident and assured with your own abilities. It teaches you not to be scared to express a different opinion or argument.
