The Process

1

Contact

Register your interest in establishing a debate club or using our resources through the contact page.

2

Meet

We will organise a Zoom meeting with you and/or your teacher to show you our resources and discuss how we can take this collaboration forward.

3

Approve

After our initial meeting, we will ensure that all parties are in agreement and begin the process of sharing our resources and training techniques.

4

Establish

DebatePro will offer assistance in setting up the club and training the chief mentor. Once the club is up and running, we will take a backseat and encourage you to take charge.

Once we hand over the resources and curriculum, DebatePro will take a lesser role in the running of the society. It is the responsibility of the head mentor to manage the society and run the sessions within the school – DebatePro is the education provider for the debate club. Meanwhile, all students within the debate club become eligible for our exclusive webinars and competitions which will serve as a wonderful opportunity to expand their horizon.

We strongly believe that the head mentors from each school are the ones who need to be at the forefront of any DebatePro endeavour within that school. This is because the student representatives have a better understanding of the mentees that are going to be trained and will therefore be in the best position to forge friendly relationship that is conducive for learning.

Curriculum

Our proprietary curriculum is a proven method in training students in debate as seen in the success of our pilot program.

Our curriculum consists of 7 modules:

  • Module 1 – Introduction to Debate
  • Module 2 – Creating a Foundation
  • Module 3 – Structuring Content
  • Module 4 – The Skill of Rebuttal
  • Module 5 – Point of Clash
  • Module 6 – Building confidence
  • Module 7 – Reply Speaker

Each module goes through a detailed analysis on a specific technique followed by a unique activity to give students a platform to practice what they have learned. The modules build on each other and gives students an opportunity to explore the debate technique in a creative, detailed and structured manner. If you would like to view these resources in more detail, please register your interest in our contact form and we will organise a meeting with you.
